What You May Expect During a Processing Period After Any Energy Healing?

Energy healing is a holistic practice that aims to support overall well-being by helping individuals release emotional or energetic imbalances. After an energy healing session, it is not uncommon to experience a short period of adjustment as the body integrates the changes made during the session. This time is often referred to as the processing period.


What is the Processing Period? The processing period refers to the time following an energy healing session when the body, mind, and spirit may adjust to the energetic changes woke up during your session. This period of adjustment can vary greatly from person to person. While some may feel a subtle shift, others may experience noticeable emotional or physical sensations as the body integrates the energy work. During this time, the body may be less receptive to additional energy healing, as it is focused on taking in the changes from the previous session. For example, if you feel the need for further energy clearing, it is possible that your body may not respond as strongly, as it is still processing the previous work so it's best to give the body a rest between sessions.

The length of the processing period varies for each individual. On average, it may last between two to three days, although some people may experience shorter or longer processing times. Factors that may influence the duration of this period include the type of energy work received, the individual's sensitivity to energy, and the emotional or mental states of the person at the time of the session.


While each person’s experience is unique, here are some common sensations or experiences people report during the processing period.


  1. You may feel fatigued or unexpectedly energized at different times.

  2. The emotional body may release pent-up emotions, which can result in feelings of sadness, joy, or heightened sensitivity.

  3. Some individuals may experience mild physical sensations, such as tingling, warmth, or light discomfort. These sensations are typically temporary

  4. You might notice deeper or more vivid dreams, or a need for more rest.

  5. Some individuals report feeling clearer or more focused mentally after a session.

  6. Some people may experience changes in appetite or digestive function during the processing period.


It’s important to take care of your overall well-being during the processing time. Here are some suggestions that may help you feel more comfortable.


  1. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, as energy work may sometimes lead to mild dehydration.

  2. Allow yourself to rest and recover. Adequate sleep and relaxation can help your body adjust more easily.

  3. Eat a balanced, nutritious diet to support your physical health as your body processes the energy work.

  4. Engaging in gentle exercise, such as walking, yoga, or stretching, can help support the flow of energy through your body.

  5. Trust your own instincts about what you need during this time, whether that’s rest, movement, or a change in routine.
