Sacred Geometry: Stellations Platonic and Archimedean Solids - Chakra Balance

Updated: Dec 30, 2024

In sacred geometry, we study shapes called stellations, which are related to Platonic and Archimedean solids and also involve chakra balancing—an idea that connects specific shapes to energy centers in the body. Platonic solids are five symmetrical, three-dimensional shapes: the tetrahedron (a pyramid with four triangular faces), cube (like a box), octahedron (two pyramids joined at the base), dodecahedron (with twelve pentagonal faces), and icosahedron (with twenty triangular faces). Stellations occur when we extend the faces or edges of these solids, creating star-like forms, such as the stellated dodecahedron.

Archimedean solids are different; they consist of two or more types of regular polygons arranged in a balanced way, with 13 unique shapes, including the truncated icosahedron (similar to a soccer ball).

These geometric forms reflect patterns in nature and carry deeper meanings, linking geometry to the natural world and the cosmos. The shapes are also associated with chakra balancing, where specific forms resonate with different energy centers. Studying these shapes helps us appreciate the beauty and complexity of the world while promoting harmony within ourselves.
